We Still Do Not Know Who Obama Is

August 26, 2008 – 10:50 pm
Michelle Obama gave a passionate prime time speech last night kicking off the Democrat National Convention. Even though I am no fan of Obama for President, I thought Michelle did a good job describing her life and conveying a softer side. She came off as a smart, successful woman with strong family roots and values. (It was nice to see her in that light.) Her biggest gaffe, however, is she made a great case for herself, not so much a case for her husband. What I was expecting to hear was some biographical information about Barack Obama. Americans do not know who he is, where he comes from. I want to know what kind of family life he had, who were his heroes, who did he identify with, where did he get his drive from? What we know is that his biological parents may or may not have been ...

5 Reasons Obama will Lose the Presidential Election

August 19, 2008 – 3:03 pm
1.  Obama is weak and naïve on foreign affairs. Americans understand that there are evil forces in the world that want to destroy us and our way of life. When it comes to protecting America, especially, Americans want the president of the United States to have courage and show resolve. Obama’s inability to admit that a premature pull out of American forces in Iraq would have caused irreparable harm for Iraq and America; and Obama’s willingness to meet with and give credibility to the world’s despots, including human rights violators, Cuban President Fidel Castro and Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, are just two examples of Obama’s naiveté. 2.  Obama’s proposed tax policies will cripple the economy. History has shown that tax cuts (across the board) boost the economy because cuts put extra cash in the pockets of working Americans, and when that happens people spend, invest, and build, all beneficial components ...

George Phillips for Congress

August 15, 2008 – 7:58 pm
Republicans and Conservatives at Upstate New York could not have elected a better candidate than George Phillips, to challenge Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D) in New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Hinchey is serving his 8th term and is 70 years old. By contrast, George Phillips is young, smart and ready for change.  He is a high school teacher, husband, father, and college professor. George Phillips graduated Magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and minors in Political Science and Theology and Magna cum laude with a Master’s Degree in Education. (Now that’s impressive!) George Phillips worked as a high level aide for Rep. Chris Smith of New Jersey, and has years of experience assessing and advancing community needs. George Phillips, if successful in November, will undoubtedly be a fresh face and much needed change in Congress. A Congress plagued with low approval ratings and the nickname “do nothing”. Hinchey is ...

Grassroots Republicans Want Allen West to Speak at RNC Sept. 1-4

August 8, 2008 – 6:22 pm
Their slogan is “Go West” and their enthusiasm is high-level. Retired Army Colonel and decorated war hero Allen West is poised to return Congressional District 22 in Florida to the side of the Republicans. His positions are clear and his motives are genuine. “I want to continue to serve my country. As an Officer in the Army I took an oath to abide by the U.S. Constitution. I will continue that devotion in Congress,” said LTC West while visiting Young Republicans and friends at the Soldiers’, Sailors’, Marines’, & Airman’s Club in New York City on August 4, 2008. What excites most people about LTC West is his commitment to conservative principles and his ability to communicate those principles persuasively. He is an unapologetic Republican and attributes 2006 losses in Congress to “Republicans acting like Democrats”. LTC West spoke of economic restoration and fiscal responsibility; keeping America on the offense against ...

Must See Video

August 5, 2008 – 2:28 pm
I found this link at FreeRepublic.com this morning - LAST 100 DAYS VIDEO.  It's almost 10 minutes long.  It is a speech given by an  African American man and Christian Pastor who claims we can prevent an Obama presidency by boycotting those industries that are financially supporting him.  For instance, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, and many others, as we all know, are ignoring Obama's dangerous connections, his past, his inexperience, and his socialistic views. Link the video above, and let me know what you think.

Google Goes Goo-Goo for Obama

August 1, 2008 – 12:25 pm
It's bad enough that most media outlets are falling over silly for Obama, but now it seems Google has joined the fast moving train of Obama supporters. Initially, I didn't believe the reports that the Obama campaign was intentionally shutting down blogs because these blogs were questioning the validity of Obama’s birth certificate. That was until I received an email from Dr. Mitchell Langbert last night, a blogger and Professor at Brooklyn College, who advised that Google has placed a temporary hold on future posts at his website.   Following of my posting of the Obama birth certificate petition that Contrarimaiiri posted, Google/Blogspot has Locked Me out of my Blog.  This occurred sometime today.  They sent me a message that the Blog was reported as a spam blog, and they are preventing postings pending their review of my blog. After blogging for about a year at Google/Blogspot, Mitchell, who utilizes ...

Allen West for Congress

July 29, 2008 – 10:51 pm
I am looking forward to meeting Allen West on August 5 at a fundraiser in NYC.  Mr. West is running for Congress in Florida's 22nd Congressional District, and coming to NYC to speak to young Republicans.  It is an important event for New Yorkers and the country alike because I get the feeling that Mr. West is someone to follow. Link here to view West press release nyc-hosts-fundraiser-for-american-hero-1. Link here to view invitation allen-west-new-york Described as persuasive, charismatic, and a war hero, this Republican is catching a lot of attention. Republicans are hopeful that this seat, currently held by a one term Democrat, is a seat they can win. As far as I can see, this candidate has better credentials than most. But I will reserve the bulk of my commentary until after I have had a chance to meet Mr. West in person. The following is a glimpse of what others ...

Obama Tour Backfires

July 23, 2008 – 9:11 pm
I can understand Obama traveling to Iraq and Afghanistan to meet with the troops, talk to military leaders, a listen and learn trip – so to speak, as the presumptive Democratic nominee and as Illinois Senator. Sure it is odd that he laid out his plans for Iraq and Afghanistan in an op-ed piece in the New York Times one week before he left, but I will not criticize him for that. I also do not mind his traveling to Israel, our closest ally in the region, knowing full well that he must garner more support from the Jewish community in America, who pay close attention to Israeli politics, to win the presidential election. I think it would be obvious that he would meet with Palestinian and Jordan leaders as well, in order to appear fair minded. The problem I have with all these meetings however, is that ...

The Times is Biased As Usual

July 21, 2008 – 8:59 pm
No one I know is surprised that the New York Times neglected to publish McCain's editorial on Iraq, even though it published a piece written by Obama on the same topic just one week ago. Not even the McCain campaign, which will no doubt raise funds from conservative stalwarts in retribution, are troubled by the editorial board decision. By email, the Times notified the McCain campaign that they would re-consider publishing his article, if McCain writes a piece that “mirrors” the Obama one. There is no need at this point because McCain’s editorial is front page news for two reasons: (1) McCain is the presumptive Republican candidate for President and his opinions regarding Iraq mean something, and (2) the Times’ comes off as biased towards Obama whereby fueling anger among conservative journalists. In all fairness, the Times did not always reject McCain’s views. One time fans ...

Americans Still Want Offshore Drilling

July 18, 2008 – 3:03 am
A recent Rasmussen Reports* national survey of 1,000 likely voters reveals that close to 70% agree with Senator McCain that the ban on offshore drilling should be lifted to ease the price of oil. Leading Democrats are still trying to prevent oil companies from offshore drilling, even with the high poll numbers against them. Led by Speaker Pelosi, Democrats are ignoring what the public is calling for. They claim drilling for oil would take too long, and that oil companies are not drilling on land already leased to them. Americans have heard these excuses, and we still want offshore drilling. We want drilling because it makes sense to exploit our own resources instead of paying for oil elsewhere. There is a way to accomplish this goal without losing sight that renewable energy is the way of the future. Pelosi apparently has other things on her mind when determining whether offshore ...
